DESTINY WELLS WEIGHS TODD ROKITA CHALLENGER
In her first public remarks about a possible challenge of Republican Attorney General Todd Rokita, former Democratic Secretary of State candidate Destiny Wells confirms she is weighing a bid.
“Rokita appears to not only be loathed by Democrats, but Republicans and Independents alike,” Wells told me. “His overzealous activism continues to send troubling ripples through our communities—from our children’s education to their mothers’ bodily autonomy—and I do not take this moment lightly. However, this is going to require the Hoosier electorate to challenge him with me—we learned those hard lessons in ‘22.”
Wells lost to Diego Morales last November, 54.1 to 40.2 percent.
“I’ll be having more conversations with trusted friends and supporters over the next weeks, and I look forward to making a decision soon,” Wells said.
A spokesperson for Rokita didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
