What's a good November for IN GOPers?
Eight days out, Hoosier Republicans ready for a big Election Night.
Ask almost any Hoosier Republican what a good Election Day looks like for them, and all they need is one word: Winning.
If Indiana Democrats propose a more nuanced definition of a good November, the picture for Indiana GOPers is far clearer: Republicans here plan to do what Republicans here do best: Win.
“A good night looks as you would expect — holding the U.S. Senate seat, all of our congressional seats, our supermajorities in the general assembly, and our depth of support at the county level across the state,” Marion County GOP Chair Joe Elsener told IMPORTANTVILLE. “There are definitely some exciting opportunities in [Congressional District] 1 and Marion County for us that could easily change a ‘good’ night into a ‘great’ night.”
Indeed, in the 1st Congressional District, the pressure is more on Democratic Rep. Frank Mrvan to defend his seat than it is for Republican Jennifer-Ruth Green to win. In the Marion County prosecutor’s race, the dynamic is similar, even though Republican Cyndi Carrasco outraised her Democratic counterpart, incumbent Ryan Mears, over the last fundraising period.
